Peter Graham was born in 1970 in Sydney, and showed an interest in art from an early age, encouraged by his parents who were both artists. He studied at the Victoria College of the Arts in Prahran for a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting. He prefers not to restrict himself to one media, and his oeuvre includes paintings, drawings, mixed media works and sculptures. At the age of 20 he had created a large number of drawings and sculptures which were exhibited in 1990 at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art in Melbourne. Since 1990 Graham has had solo exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne, and has also participated in group exhibitions throughout Australia.
