About Florence Jane Hayward
Florence Jane Hayward (nee Pickering) painted with the Heidelberg School and became a professional portrate painter in Collins Street following the early death of her husband John Lister Hayward. She may have exhibtied with the Victorian Artists Society in 1906. Her work is often confused with that of Faye Hayward, who was not related. Prior to her marriage her work was signed with her maiden name, "F. J. Pickering".
