About Patrick Hromas
Patrick Hromas was born in Sydney in 1973 and studied at the ANU from 1991-96. He spent 5 months in 1995 to 1996 on a Student Exchange with Ecole Superieur des Beaux Artes Paris. He has exhibited continuously in Sydney and the Blue Mountains, most notably at the Parliament House of New South Wales in 2016. He constructs, using Photoshop, mock-ups for his oil paintings and drawings by scavenging imagery as a postmodern surrealist, from a variety of sources. He then weaves the figures in the .jpeg image mock-up and further teases out forms, colours and compositions, painting the final work from his iMac screen, when the image has reached an aesthetically pleasing point. His artworks are in private collections in Sydney and the Blue Mountains. He currently lives and works in the Blue Mountains.
