John Cerlienco was born in Trieste, Italy, in 1946 and migrated to Australia and moved to Adelaide in 1956. He began career in fine art in 1981, commencing exhibitions in Adelaide in 1982, interspersed with working in a graphic art studio. He is a self taught realist artist working in oil, acrylic, charcoal and watercolour depicting wildlife, floral studies and landscapes.

We have records of art auction sales by John Cerlienco from 2004 and in total 22 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 13 (59%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $3,904 for Arum sold by Mossgreen Auctions in June 2013. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2022.
