About Derek Onley
An ornithologist and painter of birds, Derek Onley arrived in New Zealand from Britain in 1972 where he painted birds for a variety of publications around the world. He illustrated Heather and Robertson's The Field Guide to the Birds of New Zealand (1996) with 74 watercolours and The Hand Guide to the Birds of New Zealand (1999).
We have records of art auction sales by Derek Onley from 1999 and in total 25 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 25 (100%) were sold. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 1999.
