Kuntjiria Mick was born in 1931 at Kunatjarra, in the Western Desert region of Central Australia. More Europeans settled in the region when the nickel company started operations and Kuntjiria's family moved to Ernabella Mission. As well as being an artist, she is a renowned basket maker.
