About Edith Stanway Halcombe
Born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1844, Edith Halcombe nee Swainson was a painter and lithographer. In 1863 she married A. W. F. Halcombe, and after that signed her works in her married name. She exhibited at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts in 1890, the Sydney International Exhibition in 1879 and at the Melbourne International Exhibition 1880.
