Born in 1960, Andrew Browne is a Melbourne painter, printmaker and gallery director. He gained a Bachelor of Education Art & Craft after studying at the Melbourne College of Advanced Education from 1978 to 1982. He works primarily in painting, but also in photography, drawing, photogravure, intaglio, lithography and sculpture. His first solo exhibition was in Melbourne in 1981 and since then has shown in more than 40 solo shows and participated in over 80 group shows in Australian cities.
The earliest auction listing we have for Andrew Browne is in 1995 and in total 93 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 46 (49%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $40,800 for Tree and Grid 1994 sold by Sotheby's in November 2010. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023.
