Born in England in 1938, Arthur Phillips arrived in Australia in 1949. He studied at the Tasmanian School of Arts and is a fellow of the Royal South Australian Society of Artists. Known for his abstract and surrealist work painted in oil, acrylic and watercolour, he has exhibited throughout Australia and has won several provincial awards.
