Born in Jedburgh, Scotland, David Dipnall studied in England and moved to Victoria in 1968. He worked in product design and taught Craft and Design at secondary level at Geelong Grammar School before returning to England in 1974, when he became a professional artist. He is now regarded as one of the best traditional English country landscape painters and his paintings are widely distributed as fine art prints in the UK. Dipnall now lives and paints on the Isle of Skye.
