Born in northern New South Wales in 1900, Dundas studied at the Sydney Art School, in th eUK at the London Polytechnic and in Paris. He exhibited with the NSW Society of Artists from the 1940s. A well known figure in the Australian art world, he has been head teacher of the East Sydney Technical College, president of the New South Wales Society of Artists and trustee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales. A retrospective of his work was held in the Art Gallery of NSW in 1982.
