Artist Louisa Green-Emmott (nee Macpherson) was born in London in 1820 and married George Green in 1840 in Colne, Lancashire. Because of debts, they left for Australia in the 1850s. In 1851 they added Emmott to their surname. They lived in the Brisbane area, where George Green worked as a Gold Commissioner. Little is known of the artistic career of Louisa Green-Emmott, but her career may have been curtailed by family duties caring for her 7 children.

Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1990.
