Born in Kempsey, New South Wales in 1944, Robert Campbell is a self-taught Australian Aboriginal painter and printmaker from the Ngaku tribe. He has exhibited widely in Sydney and Melbourne since his first solo show in Sydney in 1987, and had two solo shows in London in the late 1980s.

The total number of works by Robert Campbell, Junior offered for sale by auction since 1994 is 49, of which 39 (80%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $48,800 for Killed in the Line of Duties Led to Gundy's Innocent Killing (Who Me, Why Me?) sold by Deutscher and Hackett in May 2016. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023. Works by Robert Campbell, Junior are held by the National Gallery of Australia, Queensland Art Gallery and a further five major public national galleries (see list below).
