Born in Melbourne in 1935 Max Lyle studied at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. A teacher and sculptor he has exhibited widely and has received several commisions for public sculpture. His work is represented in state, provincial and private collections in Australia and overseas. A definitive study of Max Lyle's sculpture Journeys with Sculpture was published well known author Ken Scarlett.
