Born in London in 1927, Pamela Thalben-Ball (nee Chapman) is a traditional painter in oil and watercolour, and a portraitist. She studied in England at Heatherley Art School London from 1946-50 and was Secretary of the Chelsea Art Society in London, and exhibited in London from 1955 to 1972 prior to her arrival in Australia in 1986. She became an Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW and a member of the Peninsual Art Society (NSW) and exhibited in Sydney, Canberra and regional centres of New South Wales. She was a judge in the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize on two occasions, and a Finalist in the Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize in 1975 Her work is represented in the War Memorial, Canberra.
