About Charles Holland Thuillier [C. H. T.] Sterndale
Born in Patna, India around 1853, painter C. H. T. Sterndale arrived in New Zealand in 1888, settling in Timaru. He exhibited with the South Canterbury Art Society, the Canterbury Society of Arts and the Otago Art Society. He was a member of South Canterbury Art Society until 1923 when he returned to England.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1995.
