Born in New Zealand in 1956, Harris arrived in Australia in 1981 where he studied in Melbourne. His style is in the modernist tradition of reduced geometric abstraction, and one of his influences is New Zealand painter, Colin McCahon. Harris has exhibited since 1985. His work was included in an exhibition at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art.
