Born in New Zealand about 1865, Edith Cusack moved to Sydney with her parents in 1868. She studied in Sydney and Paris and became a painter of portraits, landscapes and flowers. She exhibited with the Art Society of New South Wales and the Paris Salon from 1893. In 1896 she and her sister Aline opened a studio in Sydney and exhibited regularly.
