Little is known of the life and artistic career of Frederick Henry Mead Norton. He was the manager of the Windsor New South Wales branch of the A. J. S. Banking Company but lost his job when the branch was closed in 1896. He apparently then took up art a career as an artist and exhibited at Macquarie Gallery in Sydney in 1925, the Sedon Gallery in Melbourne in 1926 and in that year departed in the company of Lionel Lindsayfor England and Europe where he lived and worked for two years. On his return he exhibited at Grosvenor Galleries in Sydney in 1928.
