Born in Devonport, Tasmania in 1951, Dale Richards has exhibited widely throughout the state since his firt solo show in 1970. He was awarded the Owen Tooth Memorial residency and travel grant to France in 1974. In 1982 he again visited Europe where he worked and travelled then returned to Sydney where he lived until he early 1990s when he returned to Tasmania. He work is represented in several provincial collections.
