Born in Southport, Queensland, in 1952, Lindsay studied at the Julian Ashton School of Art in Sydney. He travelled extensively throughout Britain, Europe and North Africa for two years, and worked on private commissions in London. A photo-realistic artist, his first exhibition was held with the New South Wales Arts Council in 1977, and following that he exhibited with commercial galleries in Sydney, with 10 solo exhibitions to 1989.
