About Fanny Anne Charsley
Born in Buckinghamshire in 1828, Fanny Anne Charsley arrived in Australia in 1857. A floral artist working in Melbourne she produced a book of illustrated with watercolours of thirteen wild flowers in 1867, and republished the book, The Wild Flowers Around Melbourne with hand-coloured lithographs.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1983.
