About Elizabeth Stevens
Born in Invercargill, New Zealand in 1923, Elizabeth Stevens studied at the Dunedin Teachers College and Dunedin School of Arts in the 1940s. Best known for her floral and realist abstract landscape paintings, she exhibited with the Canterbury Society of Arts and the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts from 1964. A restrospective of her work was held at Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery in Alexandra in 2018.
