Born in France in 1852, Henri Tebbitt was exiled from his homeland in 1871. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of British painters prior to his arrival in Australia in 1889. He became well known for his watercolour landscapes.
