Born in Christchurch in 1950, Michael Reed studied at The School of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury graduating with an MA in Printmaking, and later exhibited at the University. He has established a career in printmaking, mixed media and textile design, and is aslos known for his paper relief abstract constructions. He has also tutored in art at Christchurch Polytechnic.
We have records of art auction sales by Michael Reed from 1992 and in total 54 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 37 (69%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,784 for Happy Fish sold by International Art Centre in November 2014. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2022.
