About Jack Dale Mengenen
Australian Aboriginal artist Jack Dale Mengenen was born Mount House Station in remote Western Australia. He worked as a stockman and was greatly revered as a skilled, tough uncompromising employee. His painting career did not commence until after his retirement in the 1990s, working with traditional ochre pigments and record life in the Kimberleys over eight decades. His first exhibition was in 2000 in Melbourne, followed by a further 9 solo exhibitions in Adelaide, Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth up to 2000.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $45,600 for Wandjinas at Iondra 2006 sold by Lawson~Menzies (now trading as Menzies) in November 2007. This year 5 works have been offered for sale.
