Born in New South Wales in 1933, Ronald Hawke studied for a Diploma of Fine Art (Painting) at the National Art School in Sydney. A realist painter and teacher, he has travelled widely in Asia and Europe. He won the Georges Art Prize in 1979 and received a Visual Arts Board grant in 1975-76. As a teacher he taught at the National Art School, and the South Australian School of Arts in the 1960s. He has exhibited in New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria, and is represented in regional and private collections.
