Born in North Wales in 1941, Humphrey Price-Jones studied at the Flintshire School of Art and Wimbledon School of Art where he gained a diploma in Graphic Design. In London he exhibited at the Fine Arts Society Galleries, Royal AcademySummer Exhibitions, Chelsea Art Show and Tryon Galleries. He freelanced for some time, arriving in Australia in 1968 to paint, teach art and farm beef cattle. A painter of landscapes and wildlife, he has held 18 solo exhibitions of his work in mainly in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. In 1983 he wrote and illustrated Australian Birds of Prey> and in 2007 he illustrated Spirit of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle: The Art of Humphrey Price-Jones published by the CSIRO.
