About Maynard Waters
Born in Sydney, in 1936, Waters studied at the East Sydney Technical College. He later travelled extensively in Australia, usually working on construction sites. After his return from an overseas trip he became known for his detailed oil paintings of outback towns and western buildings. His first solo exhibition was in Canberra in 1962 and he has since exhibited around Australia and in London and Los Angeles. He lives and works in Bateman's Bay on the south coast of New South Wales.
