Clifford Orme was a Melbourne based watercolourist, working c1926-43. In Table Talk magazine in 1927 he is described as "a young Melbourne architect who paints in his spare time. His work is displayed to advantage in Miss Margaret MacLean's new studio gallery at Cornhill, 450 Collins Street". He exhibited with the Fine Arts Society and the Athaneum Gallery in Melbourne in 1930, the Newman Gallery in Melbourne in 1932. He apparently lived in Sydney for a period in the early 1940s.

We have records of art auction sales by Clifford Orme from 1977 and in total 36 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 24 (67%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,410 for Sirius Cove from Mosman sold by Deutscher~Menzies in March 2002. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2017.
