Born in Sydney in 1952, Daniel Pata studied and later began teaching art in Sydney. He has exhibited his figurative landscape paintings in Australia, Asia, France and the UK. since 1979, his first solo show being in 1985. In 2004 he held a travelling solo exhibition in France,Echo de Lumière, featuring works of both French and Australian subjects. His work has been exhibited in group shows in Australia and internationally including London, Truro, Edinburgh, Shanghai, Korea, Taiwan and Mexico. He has travelled extensively overseas, predominantly in France, including extended periods residing in Paris, and he won the Moya Dyring Memorial Studio Award in 1987 when he exhibited in Paris.
