About William Fish
Born in New South Wales in 1926, William Fish studied at the East Sydney Technical College and became known as an illustrator and realist painter in oil and acrylic. He has exhibited at a number of Sydney galleries and has had various commissions, including illustrating encyclopedias and educational books.
We have records of art auction sales by William Fish from 1983 and in total 33 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 25 (76%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,380 for A Scene, Purportedly Depicting Daisy Bates, Alf Traeder and Rudolph John Flynn, (The Flying Doctor) with an Early Motor sold by McKenzies Auctioneers in October 2011. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2021.
