Born in Ballarat in 1960 Angela Brennan studied Fine Art at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology from 1979 to 1981 and at Melbourne University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1992. Since her first solo exhibition in Melbourne in 1989 with her abstract paintings she has exhibited regularly in Sydney and Melbourne in both solo and group exhibitions. In 2002 she was awarded the Red Gate Gallery Artists Residency, at Bei Goa, Beijing and in 2006, a Studio Residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris.
