Born in West Germany in 1962, Mark Schaller studied fine arts at the Victorian College of the Arts and was a founding member of ROAR studios established in Fitzroy in the 1980s. He is a painter, sculptor and printmaker and first exhibited in Melbourne in 1981 at the age of 19. Since then has had numerous solo exhibitions in Australia and abroad, and overseas including in Paris, Tokyo, and Athens.
