Born in Sydney in 1930, Mike Lyons is a painter in oil and acrylics, and also a printmaker and teacher. He studied at the East Sydney Technical College from 1952 to 1955 and in France, Spain, Italy and the UK in 1969-70. He studied at the Eastern New Mexico University in 1975 and was appointed an instructor there in 1977. He also taught at the Royal Queensland Art Society. He first exhibited in Brisbane in 1967 and since then has exhibited extensively throught Australia as well as in several states in the USA. He has been awarded a number of art show prizes throughout Queensland, New South Wales and in the USA.
