Daughter of Colonial magistrate and Gold Commissioner Joseph Anderson Panton, Alice Panton was born in Melbourne in about 1864. She studied at the National Gallery School and is best known for her oil paintings of landscapes and portraits which she exhibited with the Victorian Art Society between 1893 and 1913.
