Born in Prahran, Melbourne in 1898, "Eily" Lormer studied at the George Bell School in Melbourne c1950-60 and was a member of, and exhibited her still life paintings with the Contemporary Artists Society between 1940 and 1960. She was also a member of the Melbourne Society of Woman Painters and Sculptors from 1953 to 1982 and also exhibited with the Society.
