Born in England in 1936, Ted Bracey arrived in Hastings, New Zealand in 1950, where he attended Hastings Boys High School. He studied at University of Canterbury, Auckland Teachers College and University of Oregon. A teacher and lecturer he has travelled widely and is represented in several public collections.
