Born in Malaysia in 1948, Jerry Liew is an architect and painter. He studied at the New South Wales Institute of Technology and was awarded Bachelor of Architecture in 1975. From 2010 to 2012 he undertook further studies in multimedia. Liew worked with the New Dance Theatre in the mid- 1970s and won the 'Sydney Morning Herald' Art Scholarship in 1981. He has exhibited in Sydney since 1972 and his first solo exhibition was in 1980. Since then he has held a further 10 solo exhibitions.
