Betty Beadle was born in 1924 in New South Wales, and studied at the National Art School, Newcastle. She began her exhibition career in sculpture and ceramics in 1956. She moved to New Zealand in 1965 and married Paul Beadle, an artist and Professor of Fine Arts at Auckland University and continued to exhibit throughout Australasia.
