About Alan R. Pearson
Born in England in 1929, Alan Pearson arrived in New Zealand in 1954. He studied at Wellington Technical College and University of Canterbury and graduated with honours. He became a full time painter in 1957 and in 1961 he won a Queen Elizabeth II scholarship to the Royal Academy School, London. His works include abstract, figurative and expressionist styles and portraiture. A painter and teacher, his works are represented in several public collections.
