Clark emigrated to New Zealand in 1952 and worked in Auckland as a graphic designer, illustrator and artist for most of the major advertising agencies as well as freelancing for the Star and Herald newspapers. He also produced screenprints for TEAL airline posters and advertisements for Lion Brown beer, Formica and Sanitarium. In the early 1980s he released two books of sketches of Auckland and its inhabitants. An exhibition of his work was held at the Auckland City Library in 2007.
