Brian was born in Nelson New Zealand in 1947. He emigrated to Australia in 1977 and lives in McLaren Vale on the Fleurieu Peninsula 40 kms south of Adelaide South Australia. Brian’s passion for painting began as a teenager and during his early years of painting he had guidance from some of New Zealand’s and Australia’s leading exponents in watercolour techniques. His first solo exhibition was in 1983 and he has enjoyed numerous successful solo exhibitions in South Australia, Queensland and New Zealand. He has won numerous art prizes including the coveted Heysen Prize and is in high demand as a tutor.
