Marcella Kaspar was born in Prague in the Czech Republic and studied Life Drawing Studies, Sculpture and Jewellery Design at East Sydney Technical College and at the Julian Ashton School in Sydney in 1994. Working in oil on linen she is floral artist, focussing on the beauty and subtle repetition in nature. She has held solo exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne since 1999 and regularly participates in group shows. Among prizes she has won are the President's Prize in 2009 at the Florence Biennale, the People's Choice Award for the 2005 Paddington Art Prize and the Shoalhaven Contemporary Art Prize in the same year. She lives and works in Sydney.
