Douglas Miller was born in Geraldton, WA on 9 April 1908, but spent most of his life in Melbourne. Primarily a landscape artist working in watercolour, he was a member of the Twenty Melbourne Painters Society. After serving in the RAN in World War II, in 1947 he became a teacher at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, retiring after 22 years as Head of Graphic Design. He exhibited in Melbourne at the Athenaeum Gallery.
