Born in Melbourne in 1951, Jenny Watson studied in Melbourne before embarking on travel studies to Europe, the United Kingdom and United States of America. A painter and teacher, she first exhibited photo realist figure paintings in 1973 in Melbourne. Later her work was characterised by child-like representations of figures. Watson won the Portia Geach Memorial Award for a self portrait in 1990. She has exhibited in Australia and overseas.
