English born artist David Barker arrived in New Zealand in 1951 and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland in 1964. He was awarded a Masters degree in Fine Art from the University of Hawaii in 1966. He paints landscapes and seacapes and has exhibited Spain, France, United States, London, and Canada. He now lives British Columbia, Canada, and regularly returns to New Zealand to exhibit. His other interests include producing documentary and travel films, books, yacht design and construction.
