is believed to have arrived in Dunedin, New Zealand from California some time before 1863. He was known for his caricatures of the Otago Provincial Councillors and his illustrations for the Dunedin 'Punch'. He exhibited in the New Zealand Exhibition, Dunedin in 1865. Redmayne left New Zealand for California in 1874. His work is represented in the Hocken Library and Otago Early Settlers' Association.
