Yvonne Todd was born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1973, and after schooling studied at the University of Auckland Elam School of Fine Arts where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2001, majoring in sculpture, but also furthering her interest in photography. In 2002 she was awarded the inaugural Walters Prize, administered by the Auckland Art Gallery with a series of ten photographs created in her final year of study. Yvonne Todd’s photographic work has been the subject of major solo exhibitions, with venues including the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane; the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne; Dunedin Public Art Gallery and the City Gallery Wellington. Group exhibition locations include Auckland Art Gallery, Edinburgh Art Festival, Sydney Biennale, the National Gallery of Victoria and the Queensland Art Gallery. In 2019 she was awarded theArts Foundation Laureate receiving the Theresa Gattung Award for Female Arts Practitioners.
We have records of art auction sales by Yvonne Todd from 2007 and in total 112 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 67 (60%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $19,933 for Alice Bayke sold by Art+Object in September 2016. This year 11 works have been offered for sale.
