Born in Sydney in 1950, Victor Rubin studied at the Baker Art School, the National Art School and at Alexander Mackie College. After teaching for 10 years, he travelled to London in 1981, and then resumed his teaching career when he returned the following year. A modernist painter, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane since his first exhibition in Sydney in 1971.

We have records of art auction sales by Victor Rubin from 1986 and in total 340 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 180 (53%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $12,880 for The Poetics of the Butterfly Girl and Her Flowers sold by Elder Fine Art in June 2008. This year 2 works have been offered for sale.
